Teaching Philosophy

The most important role for a professional educator to model is a high degree of intellectual curiosity and a thirst for knowledge. As I converse with intellectually motivated and curious students, they should develop a sense for knowledge and learning by the questions I ask. These questions should force students to examine history and ideas not only from their perspective, but from the perspective of those who do not share their wealth or status; from those of different racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds; and from those of a different ideological persuasion. It is these questions that generate true teaching and learning.
